ilene's picture Ilene Hoffman - Ilene is an Editorial Advisory Board member of NetProfessional magazine, Talk Show Host on Talk City, Apple Forum Consultant and a member of the Apple World Wide Community team on America Online. She produces weekly Macintosh conferences with Mac luminaries on Talk City. Previously she was a member of eWorld's Community Conference Crew, Meeting Coordinator for BMUG Boston, and the Message Board Manager at Boston Computer Society Mac BBS for four years. Ilene comes to community on the Internet through an interesting mix of social activism, enterpreneurship, and a hint of a masochistic desire to be helpful to everyone. Ilene Has a BS in Social Welfare and an MSSW in non-profit management.

Cys's picture Cys Bronner - Prior to founding World Without Borders, Cys was a key member of three online communities for Apple Computer. She was a member of eWorld's Community Conference Crew, as well as a member of the Apple World Wide Community team, staffing and producing events on both America Online and Apple's IRC server. As Senior Partner of PGS Internet Marketing Group, a recognized leader in community building, graphic design, marketing and content development for the World Wide Web, Cys has been involved in such exciting projects as THE GRAMMYS, Macworld (Boston and San Francisco) webcasts and of course, World Without Borders online community. Her motto "Java, it isn't just for drinking any more".
Gail Ann Williams - Gail Ann Williams is the Executive Director of The WELL. Gail came to the WELL community in 1990, as part of a CompuMentor project to match professionals working in nonprofits with expert computer professionals for in kind support. She joined the WELL management team in 1991 as the Conferencing Manager.

Williams has been the primary official liason with the system's users since that time, handling the human issues of the conferencing system, along with selecting and training over 200 volunteer conference hosts, managing several software upgrades and launching numerous conferences on subjects ranging from Jazz to Java. Williams has spoken on online governance and community management issues for such diverse gatherings as Computers, Freedom and Privacy, South By Southwest, IEEE Community Networking, Earth To Avatars, and VirComm.

Gail has a B.S. in Conservation of Natural Resources, with emphasis on mass media and environmental issues, from the University of California at Berkeley. She credits this background with her grasp of the online environment as an ecology of expression rather than a highway of information.
