Terri Cage

After 16 years in the classroom, finally I have stepped out into the dangerous ground of writing. Working as a Talk City Forum Manager and Chat Host are fantastic jobs that quite literally keep food on the table, but right now, I have decided to think very differently and am writing every spare moment.

How did you personally
get into using the Macintosh family of computers?
Actually I started with the first Apples out to the public too many years ago to remember. My first Mac was my school computer for my classroom.
Status: Hopeful... can't wait to ditch this PC and get back to my Mac.
First Mac:
Performa 6300 picture
Mac 6300 that was purchased for my classroom. I got to take it home for the summer.
Current Mac:
floppy
A picture until I can afford one. :(
When did you get your first modem? I got my first modem in May of 1995, and the rest is history!
Who did you call first? On line it was AOL because they were the only ones you could get on the net with and not kick out a fortune in money first.
Present Occupation: Talk City Chat Host and Forum Manager
Claim to Fame: LOL Do acting credits count?
Dream Job: Writer and game designer, to be truly free with my ideas and my life.
Not So Random Thoughts...
Was there ever a time in your life that you had to "Think Different?" What was the situation and what did you do?
Probably the best example was a classroom of students that couldn't get the concept of subtraction. So I grabbed up some micro machines from my son's collect and the next day was flying miniature planes and shooting them down with a miniature tank to demonstrate the concept of subtraction.
How has using the Macintosh computer changed your life?
Being forced to learn the mac for my classroom quite literally opened up the entire world to me. I discovered computers, networking, and how to communicate in moments around the world. I hate to think where I would be without the experience.
What is the weirdest thing in your office right now?
It has to be either my stuffed Laughing Fit so that I can throw a fit in safety, or my crab claw that is to remind me of a humorous story for the novel I'm editing at the moment.
My Passions are:
My family, science fiction, renaissance fairs.
If you could have dinner with one person dead or alive who would that person be and what would you ask them?
Queen Elizabeth... I want to know why she did what she did with Robert Dudley, and question her more about her childhood with the Dudley brothers.
When I grow up I want to be:
Rich!
The question never asked:
Why the nickname Magic? For two reasons, the simple answer because I play the game Magic the Gathering by Wizards of the Coast, but also because to me life itself is Magic, and I never want to forget that. Using that as my online nickname is a constant reminder of that.

Just The Facts, Please...
Biographical Tidbits: I get bored easily and tend to get involved with many things. I started as a secretary, became a florist, grocery manager, and spent way too many years as a classroom teacher. Education: Shhh. Too much. Two masters degrees and finishing my Ph.D.
Location at Birth: Tombstone, Arizona Current Location: Oak Harbor, Washington

been in between:
