How did you personally
get into using the Macintosh family of computers?
*I first used a Macintosh in 1986, when I designed a 54 page booklet on a friend's Mac Plus with PageMaker and a LaserWriter. Very cutting edge. I was still using Commodore equipment.

What got me hooked on the Mac was working at ComputerLand of Grand Rapids. I was their DOS geek -- everyone else was into that odd computer from Apple. It took a few months, but I finally saw that easy didn't mean lacking in power.

But what really hooked me was earning a Mac Plus in an Apple sales promotion over the Christmas season back around 1991.
Status: Advocate, guru, geek.

We have about a dozen in the home, ranging from an SE, a Portable, and a Mac II through my main machine, a SuperMac J700/180.
When did you get your first modem? My first modem was a 300bps one for my VIC-20 or Commordore 64. I think I got it back in 1986. My first PC modem was 1200bps in 1988. My first Mac modem was 2400bps around 1992.
Who did you call first? My friend with the Mac -- so I could send him text files for the booklet we were designing.

Not So Random Thoughts...
Was there ever a time in your life that you had to "Think Different?" What was the situation and what did you do?
I can't think of anything at the moment.
How has using the Macintosh computer changed your life?
It turned me into more of a user than a geek -- and got me into web work.
What is the weirdest thing in your office right now?
A bendable rubber SpiderMan.
If you could have dinner with one person dead or alive who would that person be and what would you ask them?
My wife, because we don't get to have dinner one-on-one all that often.
Do you play a musical instrument and/or are you in a band?
No.
