Tim Mityok
I have been a HUGE Mac Fan since the first 512ke showed up at my parents business. Before that it was an Apple IIe clone (Franklin, from SEARS) which still runs! I have always wanted to be a programmer and am now taking steps to make that a reality with my ventures into Mac OS Software development. I am married and have one 2 year old daughter and another daughter on the way due at the end of April. My wife and I met online in IRC - yes really - and we ended up getting married in Las Vegas at the same chapel that Michael Jordan was married in called "A Little White Chapel." |

| How did you personally get into using the Macintosh family of computers? | I was often at my parents business after school and there was a Mac sitting there in the office begging to be used. I used MacPaint quite a bit and made several floppy disks full of stuff. In Junior High our computer lab's Apple IIes were replaced with Mac Plus models. I took the intro computer class, then became teachers aide for the same class and I have never looked back. | |
| Status: | I like to think I am an Evangelist preaching the cause at CompUSA (being paid or not), definately a User and something of a visonary in the Mac arena. | |
| First Mac:
|
512ke which was upgraded to a Mac Plus including having SCSI and an internal fan. It used a 45 meg hard disk (it was huge at the time) and ran System 6.0.5, then 6.0.8 for a long time. I still have it and if I can get it plugged together again it will surely boot right up. | |
| Current Mac:
|
Almost embarrassing to say, but a 6100/60 thats running OS 8.5.1 w/40 megs. RAM, 1.2 gig. HD and 8x Apple CD ROM. | |
| When did you get your first modem? | About the middle of 1993, it was a Hayes 2400 baud. | |
| Who did you call first? | Local Bulletin boards using White Knight software. My favorite was the Route 66 BBS somewhere in Phoenix. | |
| Present Occupation: | General Manager of a plastics manufacturing company and President/Lead Lackey for Public Access Software both of which will be merging into one company sometime this year to produce Mac-centric products. | |
| Claim to Fame: | MacPack Script Suite, the BEST Script Suite for Ircle IMHO. | |
| Dream Job: | Working out of an office in the finished basement (with bar-size pool table and wetbar) of my paid-for home an average of 4 hours per day for my own company. |
| Not So Random Thoughts... | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Was there ever a time in your life that you had to "Think Different?" What was the situation and what did you do? | |||
| Meeting someone online and then falling in love and being 1400 miles apart. Makes you definately think different about relationships and planning your future. | |||
| How has using the Macintosh computer changed your life? | |||
| It has finally provided a career, well I'm working on it, that I am happy to do and will be content with for the foreseeable future. I might even make some money off it. | |||
| What is the weirdest thing in your office right now? | |||
| B&W Stuido promo/press kit photo from "The Outsiders" movie, got it at a thrift store for about $2. | |||
| My passions are: | |||
| Movies, in the theatre-kind. Being a father. | |||
| If you could have dinner with one person dead or alive who would that person be and what would you ask them? | |||
| Gene Rodenberry. "I have some ideas for Star Trek episodes, interested?" | |||
| Do you play a musical instrument and/or are you in a band? | |||
| I played the guitar for a little while and even have an electric/accoustic that has been appraised at $450 that just kind of sits in the corner looking nice. | |||
| When I grow up I want to be: | |||
| Financially secure with a Mac-centric business producing quality, superior products for the Mac OS platform. | |||
| The question never asked: | |||
| Why in the world didn't anyone sue Microsoft for copying the Mac OS sooner than they did (and failed)? |
| Just The Facts, Please... | ||||

I read a lot, maybe that helps. | |
