Alan Oppenheimer founded Open Door Networks, Inc. in January, 1995 with the goal of providing Internet solutions for the Macintosh that are as easy to use as the Macintosh itself.

How did you personally
get into using the Macintosh family of computers?
After graduating, I got a job at Apple. My first project, for the Apple II was immediately canceled. This turned out to be quite a blessing in disguise. They put me to work on this new thing called Macintosh. We had to design a network for what would otherwise be a closed computer. From those humble beginnings came AppleTalk.
